Updated Budget News and Action Steps to Come
News of the
impacts of the FY09 budget are being updated daily and
federal stimulus money is now available for state lawmakers to star
using. We ask that you to stay tuned for an update tomorrow of the
latest action steps needed to protect Arizona's most vulnerable children
and families.
We will provide you with the latest, most up-to-date information on the
effects of the FY09 budget, the federal stimulus funding, and how
your voices can curtail some of the devastation that has come out of the
FY09 budget cuts.
Your advocacy will make a difference for Arizona's kids.
Thank Your for Attending CAA's Day at the
Legislature
Thank you for joining us last Tuesday as Children’s Action Alliance,
Florence Crittenton and Protecting Arizona’s Families Coalition (PAFCO)
joined together to host a very successful day at the legislature.
Our group of over 50 advocates was welcomed on both the
House and Senate floors by Rep. Vic Williams and Sen. Rebecca Rios.
Advocates also observed caucuses and many
individuals delivered letters to their legislators, urging them
to restore devastating DES cuts.
Thank you for your participation; your presence gives some
of Arizona’s most vulnerable children a voice at the state capitol when
it is needed most.
If your agency or organization would like to learn more
about how to advocate for children and youth during these tough budget
times, please contact Brenda at baguirre@azchildren.org or at 602-266-0707
ext. 212 to schedule your budget advocacy training.
