As a GOPer or as a Democrat?
It makes a big difference because political reality is such that he'd never win a GOP primary. Poor guy. He needs to come on over to the Dem side. However, he is really far right on economics so he seems to lack a home. I wouldn't want a DINO on economics in our party.

Steve May doesn't lack a home. If anything he's very much a main stream "Main Street" Republican - concerned about keeping government small, local, and out of people's private lives.
And so far as "political reality" - a crowded primary would actually be to his advantage. He is also a proven fundraiser and vote-getter.

The current mayor of Paradise Valley is running too.

We owe Steve May for bringing focus and clarity to the field. A race filled with conservatives running against each other would be a race we couldn't lose, but it would be a bit boring. A RINO like Steve May will bring urgency to the campaign where we will have to find the best conservative early to ensure that the vote is not split and that Steve May isn't sent to Congress.
BTW - When IONCHICAGO says Steve may is a "Main Street" Republican, he is speaking of the group of the same name which backs leftie Republicans across the country. Think of them as a Club for Growth for big-taxing, big-spending Republicans.

A Republican who agrees with me 70% of the time is better than a Dem who agrees with me 30%.
I'll support someone else in the primary, but if May wins, I will vote for him.

To Tim S :
Actually, when I say that Steve May is a "Main Street" Republican, I am referring to his being a small-business owner and friend to the same. This is a very traditional GOP constituency.
I wasn't referring to the Republican Main Street Partnership group which you mention.
